What is the certificate of “qualified facility for food safety”?

Once the company is established, before operating in the food and beverage (“F&B”) industry, the company must obtain its certificate of “qualified facility for food safety”.

This certificate is required for all food and beverage related activities such as food production facilities, restaurants or bars.

The Department of Food Hygiene and Safety established specifications that are controlled on site by the inspectors at the time of applying for the certificate and throughout the operations of the company. Facilities not meeting the standards are not allowed to operate until obtention of the certification.
